Move with WASD, sprint with SHIFT,  jump with SPACE, and roar with the R key. You can step on soldiers to crush them and gain points, you can also break through buildings, they don't award any points and slow you down for a moment, but they're still fun to crush!

Artist statement: This is a game, "Kaiju Sim", for a class final project, so I used assets I liked. Currently, I am very into Godzilla and Kaiju and thought it be fun to make a game where you run around and crush things like buildings. Originally, I would have loved to use Megalon as he is my favorite Kaiju, but ended up finding a model of Hedorah, Hedorah is good enough. But due to using Hedorah, because I like what it sounds like, I decided to add a roaring mechanic into the game for fun. I also added some soldiers into the game as I felt like it gave it more of a goal, and games where you get to chase something like tag and such is always fun to me. So I wanted to explore what I like with being able to chase things down, even though unfortunately for the soldiers, they are tiny and not even faster than Hedorah’s walking speed. That brings me to size, I wanted to make Hedorah seem huge and well heavy, which came with a lot of adjustments. Mostly sizing down a lot of the other assets like the buildings and the soldiers. I added heavier sound effects to the player when they walk too, and even slowed Hedorah’s walking and running speed to make him seem heavy, while also decreasing how high he can jump. What was also fun, is I wanted the towns and soliders to be able to respawn, but I wanted that kind of hidden. So I made it a gray cloudy day with a dense fog, almost making it slightly eerie, except you're the terrifying monster in the fog.
